E-PORTFOLIO 2

I am currently in my 2nd year second semester pursuing Psychology in IIUM.

Alhamdulillah, in this semester I have ended the hold of tenure 18/19 Titian Asli Club.I was assigned into Exco of Outreach and my team and I had successfully conducted programmes in two different indigenous villages. Our aim is to reach the people and share knowledge with them. Also, we strive to ensure an exchange of culture by learning their native language and the way to prepare their traditional food.We are blessed to be welcomed by the people of Kg Orang Asli,Batu 12,Gombak and Kg Orang Asli Kemensah. The kids that are always excited to gain knowledge has been a huge inspiration for me to keep joining volunteering activity. It is the smile in their face that light up my day.Despite, being busy juggling between studies and co-curricular activities,my involvement in volunteering programmes had taught me to manage my schedule and prioritise my works.

With the rise of the mental health awareness in Malaysia, I tried to pitch in my part by creating artwork to deliver to the public about the importance of mental health. As we know, people may want to help but they are not aware of the right way to approach people with mental illness. It is my responsibility as a member of the community to share my knowledge regarding mental health. However, we need to know our capacity in helping those in need.Learn the right to help others and learn to help yourself first.I am trying my best to attend talk and conferences regarding mental health to garner new knowledge.

IIUM Mahabbah Food Bank is a great initiative by the Student Union and IIUM to prepare a medium for those who are less fortunate to attain their basic needs- food. This programme is integrating the value of sadaqah that is highly encouraged in Islam. We should count our blessings and share it with people who are in need.If each of us has a sense of responsibility to provide help to those in our society, we can produce an environment filled with love and care.
